Courageous Coaching

Unleashing Potential. Becoming your Best. Making a difference.

What is it?

What we now know as coaching began in the world of sport. Trainers and managers came to realise that just telling athletes what to do wasn’t really improving them – what really took them to the next level of performance was standing alongside them and facilitating their own learning process; treating them as the experts and helping them to find their own way to unlocking their natural talents.

That’s what we do. We won’t solve your problems, answer all your questions, and tell you how to do your job. What we will do is ask you the questions you never thought to ask yourself, and accompany you as you start to explore the outer limits of what you think you know and what you think you can do. It’s exciting stuff!

We don’t offer your average coaching experience. We offer flexible, agile, bespoke coaching packages to suit you and your people. We offer outdoor, nature-based coaching; amazing equine-facilitated coaching packages where a skilled expert guides you through powerful learning experiences alongside horses; and in-situ observation where a coach will watch you as you operate, offering real-time feedback and working with you on stuff as it shows up. We have coaches who specialise in mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Coaching (ACC), conflict-resolution, and relationship coaching (whether personal or professional).

When you work with one of our pool of passionate, skilled, coaches you will be embarking on a true journey of self-discovery. We’ll champion you and challenge you – pat you on the back and kick your butt, depending on what is needed! We’ll see the greatness in you, and – here is he crucial piece – challenge you to bring it forth into the world.

Who is it for?

Individuals who want to raise their awareness of their own patterns and habits, and experiment with ways of engaging more consciously with their work and life. We tend to work with high-potential and senior leaders, but our desire is to work with any individual who has a strong desire to create an impact and make a difference.

How do I know if Courageous Coaching is right for me?

We’ve put together some of the most often asked questions on the right.  Just click on the ‘+’ to see the answers.

How do I select a coach?

After an initial chat with our coaching co-ordinator we will pair you up with one of our team of coaches – someone we sense will be a good fit. You will then have an initial getting-to-know you session, where you can get a feel for how it would be to work together. If you feel like you and the coach would work together well then you’d proceed – if not, then you’d have the option of meeting with another coach to see if that is a better fit for you.

Is it just work focussed?

It is your coaching, so you can use it any way you wish to. Some people choose to focus exclusively on work-related issues, and others choose to focus primarily on things from their personal life. We would suggest that the way we do things at work tends to be the way we do things elsewhere in life, so the two will inevitably blur with each other anyway!

How long does a session last?

You can co-create every part of your coaching experience with your coach, to find a routine and rhythm that suits you both. While the most common arrangement involves meeting every week or couple of weeks for between 45 minutes and an hour, there is scope to have less frequent longer sessions, or shorter, bite-sized meetings.

How many sessions will I need?

Coaching can last as long as you want it to, but our aim is that you will take what you need from it and then journey on independently. A common pattern is to sign up for six sessions initially and then review progress once they come to an end before deciding where to go next.

Do we meet face to face?

Because our coaching team and the coachees they meet with are spread all over the world, coaching tends to be via Skype, Webex, Zoom or some other video messaging service. As well as being more convenient, this is usually the most economically viable option. Having said that, we can arrange face-to-face sessions or in-situ observations if that is your preference. Again, we will always work with you.

How is my personal data stored by my coach?

The only personal data that will be stored by our coaches will be that which is relevant to the work you are doing together. All data will be held according to the EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Coachees can request to see data we hold on them at any time. For more information, please see our Privacy Policy.

What will I need to do? Do I need to prepare for the sessions?

All we ask of you is 100% commitment. Coaching is not about just showing up to the sessions. We will be challenging you to put things you’ve learned into action in between, to try stuff out, and push yourself. Then we will ask you to reflect on how these little experiments with different ways of being went and report back in the next session. The more you invest of yourself in coaching the more you will get out of it.
